Port-Gentil reaches a decisive milestone in its transformation
Meeting in an ordinary session, 72 of the 73 municipal councilors unanimously adopted the 2026 initial budget, set at 23.98 billion FCFA.
a spectacular increase of 58% compared to the previous fiscal year.
This historic vote reflects a clear ambition: to accelerate the development of the economic capital and sustainably improve the living conditions of the population. Urban infrastructure, sanitation, modernization of municipal services, and local economic recovery are among the priorities of this ambitious financial package.
This new momentum is fully in line with the vision promoted by the President of the Republic, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, during his recent visit to Port-Gentil. By calling for more effective local governance, visible investments, and the rigorous management of public resources, the Head of State set a clear course, which is now being realized through municipal action.
Through this reinforced budget, Port-Gentil is signaling its ambition to once again become a major hub of attractiveness, combining modernity, performance, and well-being for its residents. A new era seems to be opening for the "Oil City," driven by a collective momentum and a vision resolutely focused on the future.
