National Assembly: Crushing Victory for the UDB in Standing Committee Elections

The Union of Builders (UDB), the presidential party, triumphed during the election of the bureaus of the eight general standing committees of the National Assembly, sweeping 66.66% of the 36 positions to be filled. Out of the 24 seats obtained by the UDB, the other formations followed: 5 for the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG), 4 for the Union of the Forum for Renewal (UFR), and 3 for the Forces for the Party (FP).
This historic election, the first of its kind held via electronic voting, took place in the chamber of the Palais Léon Mba during a special session of the 14th legislature. Under the chairmanship of First Vice-President Eloi NZONDO, standing in for President Michel Régis ONANGA NDIAYE (unable to attend), the honorable deputies finalized a clear distribution of strategic responsibilities.
The key figures elected include Brice Constant PAILLAT (UDB) as head of the Committee on Laws, Nicole ROBOTY (PDG) for Finance, Blaise LOUEMBE (PDG) for Foreign Affairs and National Defense, Albertine MAGANGA MOUSSAVOU (FP) for Health and Education, Chantal MIBOTO (UDB) for Planning and Economic Affairs, as well as Claver LENDOYE (PDG) for Communication, Information, and Digital Technologies.
