Official Visit to Angola: The Head of State expected in Luanda.
Invited by João Lourenço, the Gabonese Head of State is preparing to strengthen a strategic axis focused on Gulf of Guinea security and regional integration.
The Palais Rénovation served as the setting on March 24th for a high-level diplomatic audience. The President of the Republic, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, received H.E. Emídio da Costa Rodrigues, Ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Gabon. The diplomat delivered a written message from H.E. João Lourenço, officially inviting the Gabonese Head of State for a working visit to Luanda.
This rapprochement is part of the ongoing effort to consolidate relations between Libreville and Luanda, two pillars of Central Africa. Beyond protocol, the meeting provided an opportunity to address major sovereignty issues, with maritime security at the forefront. In the face of persistent threats in the Gulf of Guinea, Gabon and Angola intend to pool their efforts to secure territorial waters and protect strategic resources.
Under the impetus of the 5th Republic, this cooperation also aims to: • Boost economic exchanges between the two nations. • Foster permanent consultation within the ECCAS (CEEAC). • Transform historical links into concrete partnerships for development.
The Angolan Ambassador emphasized the necessity of this partnership for the growth of both nations. This upcoming state visit to Luanda will mark a decisive step in regional integration, confirming Gabon's leading role on the continental diplomatic stage. The stability of the Atlantic Basin remains the absolute priority of this reinforced bilateral axis.
