Towards Strengthening Cooperation Between Gabon and the World Bank
The Minister of State, Henri-Claude Oyima, discusses technical and financial support with regional representatives of the World Bank.
T he Minister of Economy, Finance, and Debt, in charge of the Fight Against the High Cost of Living, Henri-Claude Oyima, recently co-chaired a working session at the World Bank's regional headquarters in Yaoundé, Cameroon, alongside regional representatives of the institution. The objective of this meeting was to study mechanisms for better World Bank support in implementing Gabon's priority projects included in the National Development and Growth Plan (PNDC).
The major areas discussed during this meeting focused on the diversification of the Gabonese economy through a contribution from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), on the reforms implemented by the Gabonese government and on the issue of improving access to water and electricity for the Gabonese people.
The World Bank is committed to strengthening its technical and financial support in order to facilitate the implementation of essential infrastructure, particularly in underserved areas.
In perspective, this strategic collaboration opens new horizons for the country’s sustainable development, particularly regarding energy and water infrastructure. Minister of State Oyima emphasized the importance of these partnerships in accelerating Gabon’s economic and social transformation, by guaranteeing equitable and sustainable access to basic services.
