SEEG: Between Sabotage and Recurring Outages
SEEG condemns acts of vandalism and announces emergency repair work as well as disruptions in water and electricity supply.
I n a press release published this Sunday, the Société d’Énergie et d’Eau du Gabon (SEEG) firmly condemned repeated acts of vandalism targeting its water production facilities in Ntoum, as well as an incident involving the underground power cable serving the areas of Bizango, Bikélé, and the PK12-PK20 axis. These attacks, which severely disrupt the distribution of water and electricity, have been denounced as irresponsible acts endangering the daily lives of the population.
Recent outages and sabotage have led to frequent water and power cuts, affecting thousands of households in the concerned areas. SEEG emphasizes that these incidents jeopardize the continuity of essential services and calls for vigilance and collective responsibility to preserve public infrastructure.
To address the emergency, SEEG technical teams have been deployed to the field to carry out necessary repairs on the damaged high-voltage cable and to secure the pumping facilities in Ntoum.
Given the recurrence of these acts, SEEG urges citizens to show solidarity and to report harmful behavior in order to guarantee the stability of public services and the well-being of the Gabonese people.
