Economic Cooperation: President Oligui Nguema receives the Governor of the BEAC, Yvon Sana Bangui" Libreville, Gabon – December 12, 2025
The President of the Republic, Head of State and Head of Government, His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, received yesterday, December 12, 2025, in Libreville, Mr. Yvon Sana Bangui, Governor of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), as part of a working visit to Gabon.
T his high-level meeting provided an opportunity to review the economic situation both at the sub-regional and national levels, to evaluate current challenges, and to discuss the country's growth prospects.
At the heart of the discussions, the need to strengthen economic resilience in the face of global turbulence and to guarantee financial stability in the CEMAC zone was emphasized. The exchanges were constructive, focusing in particular on the macroeconomic strategies capable of supporting Gabon's diversification and structural development.
The Governor of the BEAC, Yvon Sana Bangui, took the opportunity to address his congratulations to the Gabonese government following the launch of the MADIGIPAIE program. He described this initiative as a major innovation, commending its efforts to modernize and secure public payments through the adoption of the QR Code payment system.
Reaffirming the key role of the Central Bank in supporting member states, Mr. Sana Bangui renewed the firm commitment of the BEAC to support the Gabonese State. This support specifically targets the implementation of structuring projects essential to the well-being of citizens and to the anchoring of sustainable economic stability in the country. The collaboration between Libreville and the BEAC is thus expected to be strengthened in the coming months.
