LAUNCH OF KIMBA: STIMULATING INNOVATION AND ACCELERATING DIGITALIZATION
A Strategic Leap for Gabon's Digital Ecosystem
O n Friday, November 28, 2025, presided over by the Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalization, and Innovation, Gabon took a major step towards the digital transformation of its economy with the official launch of KIMBA. This strategic platform represents a crucial innovation in bringing large companies closer to local startups to stimulate innovation and accelerate digitalization in Gabon.
Designed as a digital bridge, KIMBA precisely addresses two fundamental challenges: • Allowing large companies to identify and express their digitalization needs; • Offering Gabonese startups a dedicated space to present their innovative solutions and technologies.
This mechanism incorporates intelligent interconnection, thus facilitating direct, rapid, and effective matchmaking. The result: the creation of concrete partnerships, the valorization of local innovations, a noticeable improvement in corporate competitiveness, and a significant strengthening of the national digital ecosystem.
The Ministry affirms its strong commitment to technological innovation, systematically supporting economic actors in their digital transformation. This support aligns with the clear vision of the Head of State, His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, who wishes to make digital technology a major lever for competitiveness, efficiency, and economic sovereignty.
The Minister declared at the event: "KIMBA is not just a digital platform. It is a strategic instrument that creates a direct link between large companies and Gabonese startups. Together, they are tackling digital challenges to accelerate our country's economic transformation."
Etymologically, "KIMBA" means "to move, to go, to advance... to innovate" in the Nzebi language, perfectly highlighting the momentum generated by this initiative.
The institutional partners involved in this approach converge toward the common goal of an innovative and competitive Gabon: • Federation of Gabonese Businesses (Fédération des Entreprises du Gabon) • Gabonese Innovation Center (Centre Gabonais de l’Innovation) • SING SA • ANINF.ga • Digital Infrastructure Heritage Company (Société de Patrimoine des Infrastructures Numériques - SPIN) • ARCEP
This initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to building an environment conducive to the emergence of Gabonese solutions, in line with the requirements of digital technology and innovation in the current global context.
This launch marks a decisive step towards a digital, innovative, and sovereign Gabon, effectively meeting the challenges of digital transformation through an intelligent synergy between varied and complementary economic actors.
